N&R Resources BIP aims to disrupt cycles of abuse, promote positive behavior change, and ultimately contribute to reducing domestic violence in society.
Mission Statement:
“Provide an educational intervention program for men who are perpetrators of domestic abuse”
N&R Resources Men’s DVIP was developed to educate those who use abusive tactics, including violence to maintain dominance in relationships. The mission of our Batterers Intervention Program (BIP) is to reduce and prevent intimate partner violence by holding perpetrators accountable for their actions, promoting behavior change, and fostering an understanding of the harm caused by abusive behavior.
The program aims to provide participants with the tools and skills to recognize and address their patterns of abuse, promote respect in relationships, and develop non-violent ways of expressing anger and conflict. Through education, accountability, and support, the program seeks to reduce recidivism and ultimately create safer communities by challenging and changing the attitudes and behaviors that contribute to domestic violence.

Philosophy
“Keep perpetrators of domestic violence accountable for their actions while being provided the opportunity to change their behaviors”
The philosophy of N&R Resources Batterer Intervention Program (BIP) is centered on the belief that perpetrators of domestic violence must be held accountable for their actions while being provided the opportunity and support to change their behaviors.
The key principles include:
Accountability:
Perpetrators are responsible for their abusive actions, and the program holds them accountable for the harm they have caused. This includes recognizing that violence is a choice and not an excuse due to external factors like stress or anger.
Non-Violence and Respect:
BIPs focus on promoting healthy, non-abusive behaviors and attitudes, emphasizing respect, equality, and non-violent conflict resolution in relationships.
Behavior Change:
The program aims to help participants understand the dynamics of abuse and work to change their abusive behaviors through education, reflection, and skill-building, focusing on developing healthy, respectful ways of interacting.
Safety of Victims:
A critical component of the philosophy is ensuring the safety and well-being of victims. BIPs stress that protecting the victim and any children involved is a priority and that abusive behavior is never justified.
Community and System Collaboration:
BIPs work in coordination with other systems, such as law enforcement, the legal system, and victim support services, to create a holistic response to domestic violence and prevent further harm.
Focus on Long-Term Change:
The program recognizes that behavior change is a long-term process, and it encourages ongoing self-reflection and continuous effort from participants to maintain non-violent relationships beyond the duration of the program.
“I have learned to remind myself to be accountable for what I’ve done. I learned to remind myself to not blame anyone else for what I’ve done as I can control my actions.”
